Last night we had a potluck at the house and the topic was fair trade. Apart from the very interesting speaker that we had, we also had an interesting couple. Danna, a former intern at the house came with her fiancee. She spotted a huge stone on her finger and so did the fiancee. The fiancee has short cropped hair, a beautiful smile and a bit on the heavy side. Yes, she is gay. As she introduced me to the love of her life, you could see it all in her eyes. She had finally found love. The look they shared was one of utter and profound love. Danna went ahead and introduced her to the 30 people in the room, note: the audience consisted of the older generation, I was among the youngest in the room. It got me wondering, why is gay love looked down on? Danna and her girlfriend were so totally in love and happy. Why cant two species of the same sex not love each other like man and woman? I almost felt envious of this love that Danna has. And the policy, if it makes you happy do it, came to mind and thats how am gonna live my life. If it makes me happy why not.
